Knee Pain

Knee pain therapy in Wesley Chapel FL

According to Mayo Clinic, the prevalence of knee pain is one of the most common complaints of Americans of all ages. Knee pain is also associated with swelling, stiffness, weakness, instability, restricted range of motion, and/or popping.

Based on years of experience, unless caused by direct trauma to the knee itself, most cases of insidious-onset knee issues are “compensatory” for foot or hip/pelvic misalignments.

What causes knee pain in most adults?

The first step is, “we need to see,” because to see is not to guess. X-rays are the initial method we use to determine knee conditions involving hard tissue (bone). We then perform a line analysis because even slight misalignments can cause significant degenerative changes over time.

Regarding knee conditions, let’s think of it this way: the knee is a hinge joint that works much like a crane; therefore, it needs to be “straight.” If this joint is kept out of alignment, different conditions can arise, such as lateral and/or medial meniscus damage, ligament tears or damage, arthritis, popping, weakness, etc.

Knee conditions develop due to slippage, falls, trauma, overuse, ligament laxity, improper biomechanics, and compensation for foot or hip misalignments, etc.
